489 Series Express Train Hakusan Color "Hakusan" Product Specifications

• The headlights, tail lights, and headmark of the leading car are lit up.
• "Hakusan" headmark already attached.

• The skirt of KuHa 489-505 can be replaced with the included coupling skirt part.

Product features and usage, etc. - The Series 489 express train is based on the Series 485 express train, and is equipped with a coordinated operation system with the EF63 class electric locomotive in order to pass through the steep gradient section between Yokokawa and Karuizawa on the Shinetsu Main Line.
After the privatization of the Japanese National Railways (JNR) in 1989, it was redesigned in the Hakusan colors of oyster white, rose, light blue, and light cobalt blue. It was operated as a limited express Hakusan until the Nagano Shinkansen started service in 1997. It can be combined with T031-2 Series 489 Limited Express Train Hakusan 4-Car Extension Set (sold separately) to make a full formation (each sold separately). The minimum track radius is R95, which is very compact.
