MTL's Description: Road Number SP 6533 ... Prototype details: This GP-35 powered locomotive is painted red and yellow with black roof, red stripe and yellow lettering. SP 6533 was built as part of EMD order number 7695 for the Southern Pacific railroad in 1964. It wears SPSF merger paint scheme commonly called Kodachrome. In the early 1980s, locomotives from both the SP & ATSF were painted in this paint scheme in anticipation of a merger between Southern Pacific and Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe. In 1985 the ICC denied the merger and the railroads began returning the locos to their standard paint.

Description: Special October 2025 factory-direct re-release of the popular MTL GP series! They are powerful locomotives eqipped with a Maxon (Swiss) motor. This was a special offer from Micro-Trains factory and is under standard MTL factory warranty. It is "older" found stock (originally offered in 2008 timeframe) but supplied today in 2025 in BRAND NEW, FACTORY FRESH condition.

UNTESTED: We will not test the locomotive, instead we simply pass it to you without any manipulations. Any issues with the locomotive will be under standard Micro-Trains warranty and we cannot help you with return shipping in case of defects or troubleshooting efforts. For issues, basic troubleshooting tips will be offered. Tips such as "try burning in the locos a bit longer," "manipulate pickup strips," dead units - "re-adjust circuit board yourself." In case of return back to MTL, you will need to pay for the return label. Mis-matched speed with other similar units or other MTL units is not cause for return.

TESTED: We test run the locomotive, we expose any basic faults and inform you ahead of time, fixing what we can and in bad cases, we send it back to MTL before sending to you. We also post a YouTube video of your locomotive on its final test run before we ship it to you. In case of defects upon receipt at your end, we send you a pre-paid label to send the unit back to us for repair/ refurbishment if necessary. Noise level and chassis wobble are not warranted! Units are not tested for speed matching and returns are not allowed for this issue.
