Description: Kit. The construction of the town hall in Alsfeld began in 1512. In 1883 the walled-up arcades were exposed, in 1887/88 the towers were put on the front, in 1910/11 a general renovation was carried out and in 1967/68 the towers on the back were also re-installed. After its complete restoration, the town hall is an excellent example of monument preservation activity in Alsfeld, a benchmark for the citizens' love for their city and for the attitude of the committees to the question of the preservation of the old town. It is the unmistakable symbol of Alsfeld. The overall structure represents a very successful combination of stone architecture and timber construction.
